The lymphatic system is a complex network of specialised vessels and structures embedded throughout the body. The function of the lymphatic system is integral to tissue fluid homeostasis and immunity. Research into this system is continually revealing new aspects of lymphatic function and advancing the understanding of processes as diverse as tissue repair, cancer metastasis and age-associated cognitive decline.
This meeting aims to bring together the growing numbers of UK researchers working on the lymphatic system to discuss building an active research network between them. A national network of collaborative researchers will provide a source of expertise, materials and ideas to accelerate research on the lymphatic system in the UK.
The meeting will foster a collaborative national network by introducing researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds to each other, stimulating discussion about a collaborative lymphatic science network and facilitating decisions about how this network will take shape.
